Kids in struggling families need the emotional support and educational encouragement that a tutoring relationship provides. When we meet this need, we live out the Gospel in a way that kids and their families can understand.
The kids who attend getAHEAD come from a variety of families, many of whom are experiencing the effects of poverty, unemployment, discrimination, homelessness, absent fathers, domestic violence, racism, gang activity, and drug and alcohol abuse. getAHEAD is a place where kids can learn what love looks like as our staff and volunteers care for them and come alongside them educationally and relationally.
